Lance Greenberg will assume his second year as president of the Kelowna-Lake Country Federal Liberal Association when the new board meets on July 2 in Kelowna.
Greenberg was acclaimed during the association’s annual general meeting earlier this week.
“Our ultimate goal is to elect a Liberal MP from Kelowna-Lake Country,” Greenberg said at the AGM. “To do that, we need the national conditions to be right, and to have an organization in place to capitalize on it. With Justin Trudeau as leader, and an upward swing in the polls, we are within striking distance of forming government.”
Matt Vader was named vice president while Andrew Mortenson takes up the policy chair position.
Among the first challenges ahead for the new executive will be selecting a new candidate for the Liberals. Greenberg said he’s been contacted by two impressive local residents who have expressed an interest in carrying the Liberal colours into the next federal election.
“With the right candidate, Kelowna-Lake Country has a real shot of sending a Liberal MP to Ottawa,” Greenberg said.
